Fewer Quick Fixes, More Creative Decarbonization Efforts

Most US exploration and production (E&P) companies have embarked on low-carbon strategies to meet company targets for decarbonization, but as the “low-hanging fruit” of cost-effective and high-impact opportunities are exhausted, companies will need to chart additional pathways to achieve decarbonization targets.

S&P Global Commodity Insights has examined decarbonization strategies of 30 US E&P companies. Of those 30, 22 companies have established specific and quantifiable interim GHG emissions reductions targets, and 12 companies have net-zero goals. Learn more about the strategies being used in mitigating carbon emissions, along with other clean energy technologies.
