  • 8:00 am Registration and Networking Breakfast
  • Track A - Oils and Liquid Fuels

  • 9:00 am Two Diverging Commodity Story Lines: Looking to 2050 for US Onshore Oil and Gas
The story for supply among commodities differs in two key elements: the oil core (Permian) hits an exhaustion point, while the gas core (Appalachia) endures; and onshore oil production declines in response to relatively low price and a dearth of inventory available at the prevailing WTI price while Henry Hub responds to the availability of gas to motivate new wells in outlying plays and peripheral areas. The Permian fades with inventory exhaustion setting in by 2035, while pipeline constraints preserve the Marcellus and Utica in Appalachia and provide a consistent base of natural gas production.Once the Permian fades, there is little alternative production among the secondary oil plays—no resource serves as a significant successor.
