Driving clarity in carbon markets to unlock its potential

In 2024, carbon markets are coming of age, and this year’s Global Carbon Markets Conference promises to be nothing short of transformative. As the landscape rapidly evolves with groundbreaking initiatives centered on integrity and quality, this is your chance to stay ahead. Although nascent, the carbon market is poised for exponential growth in the coming years. But with this growth comes uncertainty—new risks, new opportunities, and a pressing need for up-to-the-minute knowledge. For market participants in the carbon markets, this is the place to be post-COP and get the answers you need.

Key themes
Conference Day 1

• Predict when demand for CORSIA credits will increase and assess whether there will be sufficient credits with a CORSIA-approved tag
• Review CBAM’s position as a cornerstone of global carbon pricing mechanisms
• Explore how countries are implementing Article 6 and establishing national carbon regulations to mitigate political risks
• Examine the integration of removals in compliance markets and the implications for price signals in Emissions Trading Systems (ETS)

Conference Day 2

• Analyze the interaction between various frameworks in carbon markets to determine if they sufficiently support market scalability
• Investigate the quality thresholds for carbon credits required under ICVCM’s CCP label
• Evaluate the treatment of carbon as a financial instrument from the perspective of collateral and risk
• Consider the signals needed in carbon markets to stimulate demand and incentivize offsetting along with insetting
