A 40-year veteran in the Oil & Gas industry; H.E Al Falasi has been instrumental in the evolution of ENOC to become a reputable and leading integrated energy player. He plays a key role in driving ENOC’s sustainable operations by nurturing an organizational culture that adopts clean energy in power generation and efficient utilization of assets across the Group’s operational units.

In 2019, H.E. Al Falasi received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the inaugural Middle East Energy Awards for his immense contributions to the energy sector. He also received an honorary degree of Doctor of Engineering by Heriot-Watt University in Dubai as a recognition to his four decades of significant contribution to the energy industry in the region.

Dave Ernsberger is Head of Market Reporting and Trading Solutions at S&P Global Commodity Insights. Based in London, he is responsible for managing Platts commodity price benchmarks worldwide, including market reporting, news coverage and exchange relationships, from well-established markets like oil and gas through to emerging market environments like new Energy Transition commodities and recycled materials.

Dave has served in a variety of roles at Platts, including Head of Oil Content; Editorial Director for Asia (based in Singapore), and Houston Bureau Chief. He joined Platts in 1996 as a metals reporter in London, and launched coverage of Europe’s then-deregulating gas and electricity markets in 1999.

Hesham Ali Mustafa is Managing Director of Shared Services Centre, Group HR & New Business Development (SSC, GHR & NBD) at ENOC Group. He is responsible for running the Group’s core multi-functional segment through strategic management and operational development, delivering significant value to the organization through skilled governance, service excellence and cost optimization measures, while generating revenue through international business expansion through the Group’s New Business Development role.

Hesham has over 20 years’ experience in the energy sector. He joined ENOC Group in 2001 as Project Manager for ENOC’s refinery in Jebel Ali, then went on to manage ENOC’s gas business (EMGAS) & international business development, before his current appointment.

He is also spearheading ENOC’s digital transformation strategy through ‘Next’, ENOC’s accelerator program, designed to unlock growth opportunities and tackle challenges in the energy sector through building new digital ventures for business-to-business and consumer categories.

Chairman, FGE

Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki is the Founder and Chairman of FGE. His work is well- recognized worldwide for pioneering oil and gas market analysis and studies of the Asia Pacific/Middle East energy markets since the early 1980s. He was elected a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York and the International Advisory Board of ENEOS Holdings. He was the 1993 President of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). In 1995, he was elected a Senior Fellow of the US Association for Energy Economics for distinguished services in the field of energy economics. He received the Outstanding Contributions to the IAEE Award in 2012.

Dr. Fesharaki is the recipient of the 2016 Adelman-Frankel Award from the US Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) for his unique and innovative contribution to the field of energy economics. He has been appointed to the National Petroleum Council beginning in 2008 and most recently re-appointed by the US Secretary of Energy, Dan Brouillette in April 2020.

BMP Project Director & Acting Deputy Chief Executive, The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco)

Hafedh Al-Qassab is the acting Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) and also Project Director for the Bapco Modernization Program (BMP) at Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco). Hafedh is responsible for all technical and operational aspects of the Bapco Refinery, including the functions of Refining, Maintenance, and Engineering. He is also leading the BMP Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) which is responsible for managing the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the major multi-billion-dollar expansion and upgrade of the existing Bapco Refinery. Prior to assuming the position of Project Director-BMP, he was General Manager Refining, responsible for the hydrocarbon supply chain at Bapco.

Hafedh’s whole career for over 26 years has been spent with Bapco, held various roles and responsibilities in the Company’s refinery within the process engineering and operations functions, including the Manager of Technical Services.

John Roper.JPGJohn Roper,
CEO Middle East,  Uniper Global Commodities SE

John Roper is CEO Middle East, at Uniper Global Commodities SE’s, where he is responsible for furthering the development of Uniper’s commodities and corporate portfolio in the Middle East. He is an Energy Executive with 40 years’ experience in the energy industry working for independent energy and utility companies. He has spent the last 30 years in Regional Company Management and Business Development focused on the Middle East where he has a proven track record of delivering material projects. He has held several senior positions in the International Upstream, Trading, LNG and Hydrogen businesses. John has served as a Non-Executive Director, Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and Member of the Audit and Risk Committees of Caithness Petroleum PLC, a private Oil and Gas company in the UK and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of other offshore companies in the Middle East, North Africa and the Caspian.

Renu Sharma,
GM Middle East JV’s and Aviation & Country Chair – UAE, Chevron

Renu Sharma is responsible for the International Products joint ventures and aviation business in the Middle East. She has 27 years of experience in a variety of roles of increasing responsibilities in Chevron. Over the course of her career, she steadily progressed through a series of downstream roles ranging from Marine Fuels, Supply and Trading, and managing the defense fuel and storage requirements globally outside the US. Between 2011 and 2017, Renu was based in Singapore, Chevron’s headquarters for the Downstream & Chemicals business operations in Asia Pacific. While in Singapore, Renu held the roles of Advisor to the President of International Products and General Manager of Special Projects and Joint Venture Board governance.

In 2019, Renu was recognized as the first female country chair in Chevron in the middle east. In 2022, Renu was honored as one of Middle East’s most inspirational women in leadership.

Lyn Tattum is Vice President, Head of Events, Training, and Media, at S&P Global Commodity Insights and Publisher of Chemical Week. Lyn’s early career was as a journalist, publisher, writer, and interviewer in the global chemical Industry. She is well known within the international chemical and plastics industry, interviewing CEOs, chairing conferences and roundtables, and regularly attending global industry events, where she has pioneered discussions on Sustainability, ESG and Diversity.

Lyn recently launched The Chemical Leadership Circle to connect industry CEOs worldwide with critical information, providing an opportunity to network, raise awareness of key issues, and exchange ideas at a time of critical global change in economy, politics, society and business.

Manager Corporate Strategy & Business Development, The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco)

Shaikh Ebrahim, as the Manager of Corporate Strategy & Business Development at Bapco is responsible for developing strategies to maximize the company’s overall profitability through diversification and innovation. He is mandated to explore and develop new business areas for Bapco. He has recently been appointed as the Chairman of Bahrain Aviation Fuelling Company (BAFCO).

Prior to joining Bapco, he worked within the Higher Education Sector for nineteen years in the areas of Strategy, Innovation, Administration and Finance. He has attended several executive courses in Strategic Management and Innovation at Harvard University and MIT. He is currently a PhD Candidate in Engineering at the University of Cambridge. His dissertation is about innovating within the oil and gas industry. He also holds an MBA with distinction from DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, and a BSBA from Suffolk University Sawyer Business School.

Over the past 37 years, HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum has been at the forefront of Dubai’s remarkable economic development spearheading the successful expansion of aviation, which constitutes a substantial part of Dubai’s GDP, and formulating economic, investment and fiscal policies and strategies in support of the emirate’s overarching vision.

Sheikh Ahmed embarked on his career in the aviation industry in 1985 when he was appointed President of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), he also launched Emirates – Dubai’s international airline.

In January 2019 Sheikh Ahmed received the Honorary Sash of Mohammed Bin Rashid from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. This was for winning the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Government Excellence Award for his leadership in aviation. In the same year, Sheikh Ahmed was appointed to temporarily oversee Dubai Holding and Meraas, and in June 2020 Meraas merged under the umbrella of Dubai Holding with Sheikh Ahmed confirmed as its Chairman.

In January 2020, Sheikh Ahmed was appointed to the newly formed Dubai Council as the Commissioner General of Dubai Economy pillar to oversee the Department of Economic Development, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, and Dubai’s free zones, airports, ports and customs. In November 2021, the Department of Economic Development and the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing were merged, resulting in the establishment of the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).

Outside of aviation, Sheikh Ahmed holds several government positions and plays an increasingly pivotal role in leading the emirate’s finance and energy sectors.

Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, UAE

H.E. Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei has held the position of the Minister of Energy since March 2013 before the Ministry turning in the Ministerial Formation of 2017 into the Ministry of Energy and Industry. In July 2020, the Ministry grew even bigger when merging with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, including the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, and the Federal Transport Authority Land & Maritime to become The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.

His Excellency has eminent management experiences in the field of corporate management in several sectors including shipbuilding, defense systems, petroleum services sector, oil and gas, and the real estate development sector.

Besides his Ministerial responsibilities, His Excellency holds the following positions: Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Electricity and Water Authority; Chairman of the Board of Directors, Emirates General Petroleum Corporation; Member of the Supreme Petroleum Council and Executive Committee of the Council; Member of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee of Mubadala Investment Company; Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of: Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Nawah Energy Company, and Barakah One Company; as well as member of the Board of Directors of Dolphin Energy.

His Excellency Haitham Al Ghais began his tenure as Secretary General of OPEC on 1 August 2022. With 30 years of experience in the global oil and gas markets, HE Mr. Al Ghais managed international and regional teams worldwide: in Kuwait, Beijing and London. HE Mr. Al Ghais joined the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) in 1993, in the International Marketing Sector, and has since held multiple managerial functions, including Crude Oil Marketing Representative; International Marketing Sector; Head of KPC’s Regional Office in Beijing, China; Manager of KPC’s European Regional Office based in London, UK; Market Research Manager, Kuwait; and in 2021, HE Mr. Al Ghais was appointed as KPC’s Deputy Managing Director for International Marketing, responsible for overseeing the development of the market outlook for KPC’s international marketing plans and participating in the drawing up of KPC and strategic long-term plans. Throughout his career, HE Mr. Al Ghais has represented Kuwait in multiple governing bodies of renowned international institutions.

His Excellency Jamal Al Loughani began his tenure as Secretary General of OAPEC on 1 March 2023. He has over 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas markets.

H.E. Al Loughani joined the International Marketing sector with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) in 1986. He held various posts for International Marketing as Regional Office Director for Singapore, Sales Administration Manager, and Deputy Managing Director. In 2013, he moved to work as Deputy Managing Director of Marketing Division for Crude Oil and Light Product Sales. He was also appointed as Deputy CEO at Kuwait National Petroleum Company for Fuel Supply Operations and Chairman of the board of the Board of Directors Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company in 2017.

His last post with KPC in 2018 was Deputy Managing Director for Sales in the International Marketing Sector.

President, Vitol Asia

Mike Muller is President of Vitol Asia and a board member of Vitol. Mike has over 30 years’ experience in the energy sector and has been in his present role for two years. He joined Vitol in 2018 from Shell where he held a number of trading and management roles across Australia, Singapore and the UK where from 2013 onwards he ran Shell’s global crude oil trading, shipping and supply business. Mike is currently a Director of Viva Energy Australia Pte Ltd., (formerly Shell Downstream Australia), of Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn. Bhd. (formerly BP Malaysia), and of Arq. Mike holds a degree in Economic Geography from Cambridge University.

Thomas Waymel is President of TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping. His scope of responsibility encompasses all trading and shipping activities for crude oil, petroleum products, biofuels and derivatives of the company.

Thomas joined Total’s Refining business in Paris in 1993. He held several senior positions in the crude oil trading business between 1995 and 2006. King was a co-founder of the first private equity fund in the Middle East focused on natural resources, and one of the first companies licensed in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). King has spent time in the United States in executive positions within the energy sector with a focus on the origination of commodity and natural resource transactions as well as buy-side consultancy.

How to obtain a letter of invitation to apply for a travel visa

We can provide you with a letter of invitation to apply for a travel visa, which you should then send to the appropriate consulate or embassy of the event location. Please note:

  • — Your registration fee must be paid in full before a letter of invitation can be issued. There are no exceptions.
  • — Payment is considered full once money is posted to an order. Credit card payments are immediate. Wire transfer payments require at least 5 business days. Check payments require at least 10 business days.
  • — The visa application process can take weeks or even months, depending on the countries involved and time of year, so you should consider registering and paying as early as possible.
  • — If you are unable to obtain a visa to attend, we will refund your registration fee in full.

Networking app

Event registration includes access to the networking app, available for your smartphone, tablet, and desktop (both iOS and Android). We'll send registrants details about logging in to the app as soon as it goes live. Please note that your registration must be paid in full to receive access.

Substitution policy (how to transfer your registration to a colleague)

If you’re not able to attend, we’re happy to transfer your registration to a member of your organization at no cost, up to 2 business days in advance of the event. Cancellation policy

If you're not able to attend or send a colleague in your place, we accept cancellations and provide refunds if received in writing to [email protected] at least 30 days before the event. In the event of non-attendance, the full invoice fee will be payable.
