Marcela is S&P Global Platts’ Market Engagement Manager in Mexico, responsible for engagement with industry participants across all commodity groups, meeting the growing need for providing insight and education to a broad and diverse set of market participants in Mexico. Previously, Marcela worked at S&P Global Ratings for more than 10 years, following the energy, telecomm and media sectors, and conglomerates with credits in Mexico, as well as Central America and the Caribbean, Colombia and Perú. Companies within her coverage area included Pemex, Ecopetrol and PDVSA. Before joining Standard & Poor’s in 2007, Marcela worked in the underwriting team at GE Capital Solutions. Marcela holds an MBA in Banking and Finance from Birmingham University (UK) and a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico).
JOHN HILFILKER
Natural Gas Presenter, S&P Global Platts Analytics

John Hilfiker is a Senior Energy Analyst on S&P Global Platts North American Natural Gas and Power Analytics team, where he is responsible for supporting the buildout of their global analytical arm and providing energy market analysis for conferences and custom engagements. John specializes in North American natural gas supply and demand fundamental analysis and forecasting, with a specific focus on Mexico Natural Gas and Power markets. In his current role, Mr. Hilfiker manages the Mexico Energy Analytics Service content and forecasts while spearheading new data collection endeavors and statistical model development. John frequently provides speaking engagements, media interviews, and consulting projects through his tenure at S&P Global Platts Analytics.
MARIA SANCHEZ

Maria is an energy market analyst with a focus on natural gas fundamentals. Her experience includes analyzing regional and macro supply/demand dynamics by combining pipeline flows, production forecasts, demand forecasts, storage volumes, weather, and regional prices. She has managed and traded financial derivatives swaps, and options. Maria also leads consulting engagements related to natural gas fundamentals across the U.S. involving pipeline and storage infrastructure systems. Maria holds a Master of Science in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Universidad de Carabobo, Venezuela.
