Mr. Tolomeo covers the North American steelmaking raw materials market for S&P Global Platts. Prior to his current role, he covered steel plate and long products for Steel Business Briefing, prior its acquisition by S&P Global Platts. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he writes market commentaries and is responsible for the daily Platts scrap price assessments. His stories run in both the Platts SBB Daily Briefing and Platts SBB Steel Markets Daily. Mr. Tolomeo holds a B.S. in Journalism from West Virginia University and an MBA from Duquesne University.

He led the launch of Platts Atlantic coking coal spot assessments in 2012, iron ore pellet premiums and covered steel products, ferrous scrap and coal markets. Prior, he was energy industry and markets reporter at Bloomberg News, covering oil and gas, utilities, commodity traders in Japan and Asia-Pacific, Russia from Tokyo. At Dealogic in London, provided research and analysis of project finance transactions in energy, infrastructure, and telecoms. Graduate of BA (Hons) in European Business Studies with Spanish, including Erasmus program in Spain, and in 2018 obtained the Certificate in International Trade and Finance CITF qualification.


Vikash Tharad
