Justin Murphy is the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Development of ADNOC Logistics and Services and has more than 30 years of experience in the shipping, maritime and logistics industry. He has served as CEO and main board director for companies across the globe, including the USA, Canada, Singapore, London, and Abu Dhabi. Mr Murphy has an MBA from Hull University.

Gernot Ruppelt is Chief Commercial Officer for Ardmore Shipping Corporation.  He has built up, lead and developed the company’s global commercial platform since joining as Chartering Director in 2013 and was later promoted to senior management.  Before joining Ardmore, Mr. Ruppelt was a Tanker Projects Broker with Poten & Partners in New York for five years.  Previously, he held various positions up to Trade Manager for Maersk in the United States, in Europe and Asia.  Mr. Ruppelt received an Executive MBA from INSEAD.  He also graduated from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in London, Hamburg Shipping School and Maersk International Shipping Education (MISE).  Mr. Ruppelt is Chairman of INTERTANKO’s Commercial and Markets Committee, and he serves on the Board of Anglo Ardmore Ship Management.

Ankita Pandey
Relationship Manager, Trade & Supply Chain Finance, Asian Development Bank

Ankita Pandey is a Relationship Manager with ADB’s Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program covering the Central and West Asia Region. The ADB TSCFP works towards closing market gaps for trade finance, to support the economic growth, jobs, and development that come from trade. Ankita joined ADB in 2020 and has 9 years of experience in the areas of structured trade finance and credit analysis for financial institutions. Prior to joining ADB, Ankita worked for over 5 years with Australia and New Zealand Banking group, India as Research Lead in the Structured Trade Finance team and then later with the Credit and Capital Management teams.

In 1989, Dr Fesharaki was elected a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. Since 1991, a member of the International Advisory Board of ENEOS Holdings (and its predecessor companies). He was the 1993 President of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). In 1995, he was elected a Senior Fellow of the US Association for Energy Economics for distinguished services in the field of energy economics. In 2002, appointed a Senior Associate of the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. He received the Outstanding Contributions to the IAEE Award in 2012. He was a member of the Advisory Board of VOPAK LNG from 2013 to 2015. In 2014, appointed as Honorary Advisor by CNPC Research Institute of Economics and Technologies in Beijing. Dr. Fesharaki is the recipient of the 2016 Adelman-Frankel Award from the US Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) for his unique and innovative contribution to the field of energy economics. In March 2017, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) appointed him as a Director of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME). Since 2009, he has been a member of the DME Board of Directors. Dr. Fesharaki has been appointed to the National Petroleum Council beginning in 2008 and most recently re-appointed by the US Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm in April 2022.

Ms Low Yen Ling was elected as a Member of Parliament for Chua Chu Kang GRC in the 2011, 2015 and 2020 General Elections. She is presently the Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY). Prior to that, she was the Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education (MOE) from 2015 till July 2020 and the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) from 2018 till July 2020. She had also previously held office in the Ministry of Social and Family Development (2013-2015), MCCY (2014-2015) and MTI (2015- 2018).

Ms Low began her career in the private sector with experience in financial institutions and a start-up venture. Thereafter, she joined the Singapore Economic Development Board and in her decade of service, played a key role in strengthening Singapore’s entrepreneurial landscape and professional services sector. In 2011, she became Chief Executive Officer of Business China, an organisation nurturing Chinese biculturalism, bilingualism and collaboration with China. With her strong bicultural and bilingual background, she spearheaded unique programmes to immerse business leaders in China and deepen young Singaporeans’ knowledge of modern China.

Drawing on her strong ties with the local business community, Ms Low is presently Advisor for the Singapore Business Federation’s (SBF) SME Committee (SMEC) and Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (SCCCI) Trade Association Committee (TACOM). She also serves on the multi-agency national SG Clean taskforce to uphold high standards of public and personal hygiene beyond Covid-19. With a heart for the underprivileged, Ms Low continues to serve as a board member of the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) where she steers its Student and Parent Education Committee to expand the organisation’s reach and support to low-income students and families. Under her leadership, CDAC and its partners have established more than 20 Big Heart Student Care centres island-wide to provide after-school care to students of all races. Ms Low also contributes in the area of education as a member of the PAP Community Foundation (PCF) Executive Committee.

In her past role as MOE’s Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ms Low led the ministry’s efforts to strengthen students’ foundation in their learning of the Chinese language. In her capacity as Chairman of the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL), Vice-Chairperson of the Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism, and Advisor to the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL), Ms Low expanded the breadth and depth of public outreach programmes that attracted increased participation from pre-schoolers, youths and parents.

Ms Low also spearheaded the drive to improve communications and public awareness of SkillsFuture, the national lifelong learning movement. These efforts were synergistic with her responsibility as Senior Parliamentary Secretary of MTI where she aligned the government’s SkillsFuture thrust with several Industry Transformation Maps (ITM) to help businesses meet the challenges of a changing economy. At MOM, Ms Low advanced the interests and skills of workers, focusing on older Singaporeans, women and young graduates.

In June 2018 Ben Luckock was appointed Co-Head of Oil Trading, jointly overseeing the Group’s Physical and derivatives oil trading activities. Ben currently focusses on North America, Europe and derivatives trading and is domiciled in Geneva. In this role she leads a team across four continents that combines trading, finance and risk management expertise, alongside technical project and policy support, to provide a full service offering in measuring, reducing and compensating GHG emissions to project owners and emitters alike under both regulated and voluntary regimes. Hannah joined the Group in 2016 in Geneva, firstly becoming Head of Bitumen Trading for Puma Energy before moving to Trafigura’s Oil Trading team, becoming Head of European Crude Trading in 2020. In the eight years prior to joining Trafigura, Hannah worked for a variety of refining, trading, and distribution companies, including as a Middle Distillates trader for Shell in positions based in Houston and London. Carlos Pascual is senior vice president for Global Energy and International Affairs at S&P Global Commodity Insights, responsible for leading all business lines in Latin America.

As the energy envoy and coordinator for international energy affairs for the United States, Carlos established and directed the new Energy Resources Bureau at the U.S. Department of State and was senior advisor to the Secretary of State on energy issues. He had previously been a United States Ambassador to both Mexico and Ukraine and was special assistant to the President and successively as director and then senior director for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia on the National Security Council. At the Brookings Institution, Carlos served as both vice president and director of foreign policy studies and launched the Brookings Energy Security Initiative. He taught and wrote on energy geopolitics at Columbia University. Carlos created the position of coordinator for reconstruction and stabilization, establishing the State Department's first civilian response capacity to conflicts. He also was the State Department's coordinator for American assistance to Europe and Eurasia. He has also held leadership roles at the U.S. Agency for International Development, including as deputy assistant administrator for Europe and Eurasia, chief of policy and strategy for Africa and in field postings in Mozambique, South Africa and Sudan.

Carlos received his Masters of Public Policy degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University. His book, Power and Responsibility, won a 2009 award for the best political science book published by an independent publisher.

Dave joined Platts in 1996 as a metals reporter, and, in 1999, took on responsibility for Platts new European power start-up ventures as editor-in-chief, launching coverage of the deregulating electricity and natural gas markets in the European Union. Dave relocated to Houston in 2001 as bureau chief, before moving to Singapore in November 2003.

Kate Lee

Kate joined S&P Global Commodity Insights in Singapore as principle research analyst in aromatics, in October 2022. She first entered the petrochemical industry in 2006 when she joined OceanConnect in Singapore to be part of a lean team that started up its petrochemicals broking desk. In that role, she brokered across the entire BTX chain of toluene, benzene, xylenes and styrene monomer, as well as gasoline blending components, for the Asia market, bringing that desk from creation to recognition.

This 16-year journey in the petrochemicals industry took her from being a petrochemicals broker, to trader, to price assessment and market reporter and now to analysis and forecasting. As a trader for a Middle East-based solvents distributor, not only did she expand its Asia-based list of suppliers, she was also part of a two-man team that started its Asia petrochemicals trading desk. Her past 8 years were spent at Argus Media, building up her expertise in price assessments. She also enjoyed covering the seismic changes in the aromatics and olefins markets. Her portfolio at Argus spanned toluene, mixed xylenes, MTBE, ethylene, benzene and styrene monomer.

She graduated from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore with a business studies degree, with a major in marketing and is currently refreshing her knowledge by doing a PowerMBA. Lyn Tattum is Vice President, Head of Events, Training, and Media, at S&P Global Commodity Insights and Publisher of Chemical Week.

She has a degree in Politics and Economics from the University of Manchester and briefly studied at the Sorbonne, Paris, and at the British Film Institute, London. She has also worked at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna. She was chair of the London-based African film festival, Africa at the Pictures. Lyn’s early career was as a journalist, publisher, writer, and interviewer in the global chemical Industry. She has travelled extensively and is well known within the international chemical and plastics industry, interviewing CEOs, chairing conferences and roundtables, and regularly attending global industry events, where she has pioneered discussions on Sustainability, ESG and Diversity.

During her career as Publisher of Chemical Week magazine and later as Vice President at IHS Markit, Lyn has launched and expedited chemical industry events in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Dubai, Prague, Berlin, Warsaw, Brussels, London, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, New York City, Houston, among other locations. Recently she launched The Chemical Leadership Circle to connect industry CEOs worldwide with critical information, providing an opportunity to network, raise awareness of key issues - including a need for greater diversity - and exchange ideas at a time of critical global change in economy, politics, society and business.

Mark Eramo currently leads the Fuels, Chemicals & Resource Solutions (FCRS) business line, one of five businesses that make up the newly formed S&P Global Commodity Insights division (formerly S&P Global Platts). The new Commodity Insights division was created upon the completion of the merger of S&P Global and IHS Markit on March 1, 2022. In his current role, Mark has P&L responsibility for the FCRS business and manages a global team of nearly 500 research colleagues. His team is located in more than 30 countries across all major regions and delivers information, insights, and forecasts regarding energy, refining, chemicals, agriculture, shipping, metals, and various related industries. Prior to the merger closing, Mark served as Senior Vice President, Energy & Downstream Markets, as a member of the leadership team for the Energy & Natural Resources division of IHS Markit. In that role, he held the P&L responsibility for the Oil Markets, Midstream, Downstream & Chemicals (OMDC) business, leading a team of over 400 research colleagues.

Based in Houston, Texas, Mark joined IHS in May 2011 following its acquisition of Chemical Market Associates, Inc. (CMAI). In his first role at IHS as Vice President, IHS Chemical Market Research, Mark led a global team that provided in-depth market research, analysis, and forecasts on nearly 300 chemical and derivative markets. In 2015, following his leadership role in research, he served as Vice President, Global Business Development for the OMDC business line. In that role, he was responsible for leading a global team that worked with existing and new clients to develop and strengthen business relationships at the executive level.

Mark worked at CMAI for more than 13 years and was responsible for CMAI’s olefins market analysis and forecasts. In his last role as Executive Vice President, he was responsible for CMAI’s global market advisory services. He also served on the Board of Directors for CMAI for several years. Before joining CMAI, Mark worked for more than 12 years in the chemical industry with Vista Chemical Company holding positions in technical sales, customer service, and product management. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University, where he also enjoyed playing football for the Big Red.

Olivier Maronneaud leads the practice covering the methanol industry and its downstream derivatives as well as the research relative to plastic circularity within S&P Commodity Insight. Olivier joined the company, previously called IHS Markit in 2013 and spent 4 years in the research and analytics team with a focus on the methanol and acetyls industries. Between 2017 and 2021, Olivier worked in the chemical consulting practice, leading bespoke projects and studies for clients in the EMEA region. Olivier started his career working for Arkema in France where he was product manager for PVC with both commercial and marketing responsibilities. Olivier graduated in business administration from Grenoble Graduate School of Business in France.

Paul Gruenwald is the Global Chief Economist at S&P Global Ratings based in New York. He leads the economic research agenda and serves as the primary spokesperson on macro-economic matters for the company.

Before joining S&P Global Ratings in 2013, Paul spent almost five years at the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) as the Asia Pacific Chief Economist, where he was responsible for helping set and direct ANZ’s Asian and global economic research agenda, as well as building the bank’s economic research efforts and profile in the region. Previously, Paul worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for nearly 16 years, where he led the team producing the IMF’s Asian regional outlook reports. He was also the IMF Resident Representative to Hong Kong and Korea, the Deputy Chief of the China Division, and did considerable work on both public (Paris Club) and private (London Club) debt restructuring issues.

Paul has a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics/Mathematics from the University of Texas.

Pooja Jain

Pooja Jain is a Polymer SME at S&P Global’s Commodity Insights division in Gurgaon, India. She is a chemical engineer and has 12+ years of experience in the refinery and petrochemical industry. Pooja started her career as a production engineer working in the petrochemical complex at Indian Oil Corporation and later moved to project management role where she worked on several mega-scale petrochemical projects. After working in the field for close to 6 years, she moved to consulting and joined KPMG as an ENR strategy consultant. Pooja has got a good exposure of both the operations and business side of the energy industry from these varied experiences.

Premasish Das
Research and Analysis Executive Director, S&P Global Commodity Insights

Premasish Das leads S&P Global oil market downstream research activities for Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. He is responsible for the regional services covering short-term and long-term crude oil and refined product supply, demand, price and margin outlooks, and detailed downstream market research. Mr. Das is actively involved in consulting as well and advises clients on strategic studies, market studies, and commercial and technical assessments. Before joining the firm, Mr. Das worked for ExxonMobil, Singapore, and NOCIL, India in various technical, commercial, and leadership assignments. The roles include refining/ petrochemical technical support, site-level utility and energy management, and regional market advisory. Mr. Das was responsible for analyzing business opportunities and developing and implementing strategies to improve business line profitability. Mr. Narayanaswamy is a Vice President responsible for Industry Executive relationship for the Fuels, Chemicals and Resources (FCRS) business unit covering Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent and Asia Pacific region. He joined Purvin & Gertz in 2005, which was acquired by IHS Markit in 2011, and in turn acquired by S&P Global in 2022 and is based at their Singapore office. Mr. Narayanaswamy has more than 30 years of diverse oil industry experience spanning both refining and petrochemicals. Mr. Narayanaswamy frequently presents to CEO's and Senior Management of oil companies, and at IHS Markit and other third-party conferences. He previously had Lube basestock Operations and Process Engineering, Production Planning, Asia Pacific Petrochemical Feedstocks Economics and Optimization, and Manufacturing Advisor for Aromatic facilities globally with increasing responsibilities at ExxonMobil, Singapore where he worked for 11 years. Prior to that, he worked at Hindustan Petroleum at their Mumbai refinery, India. Mr. Narayanaswamy holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and an MBA.

She leads the Asian aromatics team that covers aromatics benchmark markets including paraxylene, benzene, mixed xylenes, etc. Before this, she was handling multiple agriculture and biofuels markets in Asia. She has worked at a major commodities trading firm handling oil markets. She joined Platts in October 2015.

Sanjay Sharma is Head of Global Chemical Consulting. In this role, Sanjay is responsible for managing Global Chemical Consulting team, developing Chemical Consulting Strategy, and ensuring its successful implementation. Sanjay has more than 30+ years of experience in the industry with extensive consulting, strategy development, feasibility studies, competitive analysis, M&A, and due diligence experience. He has actively participated in developing strategy, improving business performance, developing and managing joint ventures and alliances, and engaging in mergers and acquisitions. Sanjay has managed assignments in Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia.

Saugata Saha

Saugata Saha is President of S&P Global Commodity Insights and a member of S&P Global’s Executive Committee.

In prior roles at the company, Saugata was the Chief Financial Officer of two of S&P Global’s technology-driven, data, benchmarks, and analytics divisions, S&P Global Market Intelligence and S&P Global Platts. Prior to that, Saugata led financial planning & analyses (FP&A) and corporate strategy for the company; managed operations for the technology group; led the integration program for a large acquisition; and led the strategy team at S&P Global’s Ratings division.

Previously, Saugata was a consultant at McKinsey & Co.’s New York office where he led client engagements focused on strategy, M&A, corporate finance, and on improving operations across a range of industries, with particular emphasis on financial services.

Before joining McKinsey & Co., Saugata spent seven years at the Godrej Group, a $4 billion diversified conglomerate in Mumbai, India. At the Godrej Group, Saugata led sales teams and supply chain re-engineering projects and worked in the Office of the Group Chairman.

Saugata holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with Honors, from St. Xavier’s College in Kolkata, India; a post-graduate diploma in Management from the Xavier Institute in Bhubaneswar, India; and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School, where he was a George F. How do I obtain a letter of invitation to apply for a travel visa?

We can provide you with a letter of invitation to apply for a travel visa, which you should then send to the appropriate consulate or embassy of the event location. Please note:

  • — Your registration fee must be paid in full before a letter of invitation can be issued. There are no exceptions.
  • — Payment is considered full once it is paid. Credit card payments are immediate. 
  • — The visa application process can take weeks or even months, depending on the countries involved and time of year, so you should consider registering and paying as early as possible.

I'm no longer able to attend. May I send someone else in my place?

If you are no longer able to attend, we are happy to transfer your registration to a member of your organization at no cost, up to 3 business days in advance of the event.

Requests must be received in writing via email to [email protected], and are subject to approval.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

If you're not able to attend or send a colleague in your place, we accept cancellations and provide refunds if received in writing to [email protected] at least 30 days before the event. All cancellations are subjected to a cancellation fee of USD $195.
